Table Mountain Blues Summit 2015
South Africa's premier Blues festival, Table Mountain Blues Summit, will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary at the Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville, Cape Town. The ever-popular event takes place on 5 December 2015, and promises hours of non-stop jazz, blues performances and an all-round good party.
Table Mountain Blues Summit is the brainchild of organiser, Mike Combrinck. He formulated the idea back in 2005 after watching a Jazz and Blues Session at the late Steak and Ale in Pretoria, and knew that he wanted to create a thriving blues scene for South Africans to enjoy. The first Table Mountain Blue Summit began humbly in 2006, where 6 blues artists performed to an intimate audience at the Tafleberg Tavern. Now, it has grown in popularity with lovers of jazz annually flocking to the festival.
While in recent years the festival has incorporated other music genres, this year's event commemorates the 10 year anniversary by sticking true to their blues and jazz roots, with 12 of the countries best jazz artists performing.
The line up includes the following artists:
- Aden Martin Trio
- Wayne Pauli
- Jonathan Peyper
- Gerald Clark
- The Studerbakers
- Guy Collins Band
..... and many others
The festival gates will be opened to the public from 10 am onwards on the 5th December 2015, with the first performance commencing at 11 am.
